Stories behind 2025 Summer Collection - The Beginning

In 2016, I walked into a renowned jewelry shop in Taipei on a whim. I was introduced to and completedly fascinated by a feather bangle with immaculate detail. This event marked the starting point of my obsession of feather and eagle jewelry. 

In 2019, I met Dan Valencia for a series of jewelry making workshops in Washington DC. I told him I'll be back for extended study when the time was right— to make my own contribution to the world of feather and eagle jewelry.

Fast-forward to 2024, I was finally ready to start the journey of professionally making jewelry with the intention of building my first collection. I reached out to Dan at JewelryClassDC and get the ball rolling. In the past 10 years, I researched, collected, experienced and studied innumerable varieties of feather and eagle jewelry. After researching into countless expressions through different textures and the flow of lines in making a feather, besides being astonished by the craftsmanship, I could not shake off the idea of fabricating my own feather. Being heavily influenced by both Eastern and Western art traditions, I find myself at a place where I believe I have a voice in this realm.

My first collection honors the journey of finding the courage and resilience to begin anew. The collection tells the story in 5 chapters, each depicting a moment that holds significance to my journey. I hope my audience who are in a similar situation can find resonance and light in my work.

You have come so far, yet not without sacrifices. As a spark flickers back to life, that dream and vision you have reassure you. The path remains. There is still work to do, goals to accomplish, and dreams to fulfill.

Courage tells a story of preparing for the next voyage, while reflecting on when this journey started, and where it has taken us. There are still gaps in our souls that need to be filled. It seemed easier when you had nothing to lose. Now here, while looping between pacing, sitting, and standing, you need to make up your mind. You know, it is exhilarating to bet on yourself again.
